Yep, looks like hurricane season is in full swing. My first year down here and so far I've been lucky. Just one Tropical Storm and a near miss. Gustav was projected to come our way, but it never really made the left hook that people were afraid of. So instead, those poor Louisianans got the shaft this time. It was quite a sight actually watching the droves of evacuees as their cars piled up on the I-10 East.
My plant was contemplating closing down and I was sure that they were gonna close. We closed for Tropical Storm Eduardo, they'll surely close for a category 4 hurricane. To my surprise they decided to stay open and it wasn't until I came home that I heard it was going to completely miss us.
Well not completely. I was heading out to the local BBQ place just an hour ago and the wind conspicuously picked up and it rained really hard. Murphy's Law... The moment it rains is when you're going outside.
That's all so far so those of you reading, don't worry about me. I'm doing fine and if I really need to leave I'm set to roll. In the meantime, happy Labor Day everyone! Eat lots of BBQ!
